Director of Environment & Horticulture Candidate

My Fellow Niagara College Scholars,

I'm Chris Fullerton, and I'm thrilled to officially declare my candidacy for the role of Director of the School of Horticulture and Environment. It's been my pleasure serving you in this capacity over the past year, and if we haven't had the opportunity to connect yet, I warmly encourage you to seek me out for a friendly chat.

Reflecting on my journey, having graduated from Niagara College in 2007 in Health Care, I've witnessed remarkable growth and positive transformations within our College and its community. Returning for a second career in the Environmental field, I've marveled at the diverse influx of students from various corners of the globe. While our college continues to evolve, I firmly believe there's always room for enhancement, and I aspire to be a conduit for bringing your voices to this ongoing progression.

During my initial college tenure, I remained focused solely on academic pursuits. Getting my job done. However, this time around, I've decided to get involved as much as my grades will allow, immersing myself in campus life, forging connections, and fostering friendships through volunteering and enriching experiences like the Be World Ready trips. As I contemplate another term as Director, my aim is to rejuvenate the sustainability committee, ensuring your voices guide the initiatives it undertakes.

My tenure in student governance has been immensely enlightening, fueling my desire to serve you even more effectively in a subsequent term. Through my career in healthcare, I've realized my profound passion for advocacy and championing the needs of others. My stint as Director of Environment and Horticulture has further solidified my conviction that I can channel this passion and skill set towards fostering a vibrant and inclusive community here at Niagara College.

Engaging with students from diverse backgrounds has been both enlightening and exhilarating. I'm genuinely enthusiastic about bridging our student community closer together, leveraging my passion for student advocacy and environmental stewardship. Together, let's cultivate a sustainable, equitable, and thriving environment for all of us at Niagara College.

Thank you sincerely for considering my candidacy, and I hope to have an opportunity to connect with each of you soon.

Kind regards,

Chris Fullerton
