Meet Your 2020
Director of Hospitality, Tourism, and Sport Candidate
Tourism Management - Business Development
In September 2018 I had the opportunity to join the Niagara Region’s LEAP program at STRIVE Welland. Throughout the school year, I got to learn the value of connecting with my peers and what it means to be a leader. I graduated top of my class and received the honour of being named valedictorian. I applied for and was accepted into the Tourism Management – Business Development program here at Niagara College.
Being from Welland, I always knew that I would go to Niagara College however I wasn’t expecting to make my home in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Now that I’m here, I wouldn’t change it for the world. In my time at Niagara College, I’ve been fortunate to meet people from across the world, who have all come together to share our knowledge and experiences. I ended the Fall 2019 term by making it onto the President’s Honour Roll.
I decided to run for Director of Hospitality, Tourism, and Sport because I think it’s important that each student has an opportunity to have their voice heard. In addition to my own conflicts with the local transit system, I’ve had many students come to me with their own problems or concerns. As director, I would be keeping these concerns in mind when working with the Board to make decisions for the future.
If you see me around campus, please come say “Hello” and introduce yourself. I love getting the chance to meet the people that make this school an amazing place to be. Follow me on Instagram @theonlytaray and Twitter @theonlyTaraY .
