My name is Tom Price, and I am running to be your Niagara College Student Administrative Council President. My responsibility as your President, along with the Board of Directors will be adhering to the role and mission of NCSAC, thereby, setting the strategic directions for NCSAC on behalf of all 11,000+ Niagara College students. As your President I will report to the Niagara College Student Administrative Council Board of Directors, and I will be accountable to this group and to you, the membership at large, for my actions. I will, above all else, be an advocate on your behalf with regards to Niagara College. I will organize advocacy efforts and promote government relations between NCSAC and other student organizations, as well as, municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government. I will also advocate for, but not limited to, heightened student supports and services, enhanced health and wellness assistance, a resolute focus on equity and inclusion, as well as a student centre.
I will bring the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be an advantageous, and exemplary President of the Niagara College Student Administrative Council. My current position, my employment history, education, and volunteering have provided myself with the expertise, and insightful experience necessary to be an invaluable President. As your current NCSAC President, I have had the responsibility of fiduciary oversight and organizational performance, as well as, establishing appropriate governance structures, including setting the vision, strategic directions, overall goals and outcomes for the Niagara College Student Administrative Council. My tenure with NCSAC has included being a Returning Board Member, and past Director of Goodwill, where I have partaken in governance restructuring, approving of business plans, budgets, setting strategic direction, writing reports for NCSAC, and advocating on behalf of students for fairness, honesty, and transparency. My time as the Niagara College Board of Governors Student Representative, I have had the responsibility of fiduciary oversight and institutional performance, as well as, establishing appropriate governance structures, including setting the vision, strategic directions, overall goals and outcomes for Niagara College. As an Honours student in the Human Resources program, in addition to my time as NCSAC President, NCSAC Director, Niagara College Board of Governor, an NCexpert, work, and personal experiences I have a comprehensive understanding of establishing strategic vision, strategic direction, employment law, business law, government policies, and community needs. I am also well versed in hiring, delegating, and evaluating individual performances, and applying corrective action when appropriate. My experiences at Niagara College have allowed myself to build the meaningful relationships with fellow students, faculty, and administrators that are required to be the valued President of NCSAC.
I will always have a passion to learn and foster new skills and apply these positive attributes in a constructive manner in whatever new endeavor I find myself in. I live my life with great focus, motivation, integrity, and ambition for success, and I can assure you that I will bring all these practical personal characteristics as your President of the Niagara College Student Administrative Council. I will also guarantee you that as your President, I will be engaged, honest, and transparent.
